Who Plays online Bingo?

Monday, August 10th, 2009

When the word ‘bingo’ is brought into conversation many people still picture a run-down community centre filled with old women ticking off their numbers in a lacklustre environment. However the game of bingo has been totally revamped and has a major following online. So back to the original question, who plays online bingo? Well, almost everyone.

With famous names like Jade Jagger, Bill Clinton and Elle MacPherson all admitting to partaking in regular games of online bingo, it is seen as a more socially-accepted form of gambling. The excitement as your numbers come in combined with the rush of adrenaline and tension as you get ever closer to winning has captured people from all walks of life and catapulted online bingo into the limelight.

The online arena has given bingo a new lease of life, meaning a game of bingo is minutes away at all times. A player can choose to have an interactive game, communicating with other players or simply settle down and concentrate solely on the prize, with no distractions.

So whilst once upon a time, the average age of the bingo player was probably pushing 70, nowadays you can find people of all ages and from all walks of life enjoying the benefits of a game of online bingo!

Why Play Bingo

Aside from the entertainment factor and the chance to win some cash prizes. A study has found that playing bingo is actually good for you too.

The study was undertaken by the Psychology department at the University of Southampton and concluded that those who regularly played bingo has a much sharper mind than those who didn’t, even more so in older people. The report outlined better and more accurate results for bingo players in tests such as mental speed, memory and the ability to take in information quickly around them.

112 people were tested within the age brackets of 18 to 40 and 60 to 82. Fifty percent of each group regularly played bingo, whereas the other half did not. The conclusion of the results was that those who played bingo were much quicker and more accurate than non-players. This research supports the theory that regular activities that exercise the mind are extremely beneficial throughout our lives.

The differences between the two age groups were a better speed from the younger players but the older players were much more accurate. The stigma once associated with bingo as a game solely for older people has now been removed and you can enjoy bingo with likeminded players both in a bingo hall and from the comfort of your own home with online bingo. You can be up and running in minutes with Online Bingo, so as well as winning some huge cash prizes you can be giving your brain a work out too!

Sky Bingo Value

I generally hate bingo websites because they don’t have the same atmosphere that my local club does. So the people are probably nearer my age than they are at the club but that’s another story. Back to bingo. I usually hate those sites but I found one I liked and wanted to write a quick review for it. Sky Bingo its called. The graphics are pretty ace and its real easy to play there. Unlike some of the other sites I went to before look like they’ve been thrown up in an hour. This doesn’t so I decided to play Sky bingo. Reminds me a lot of Mecca to be honest.I also like the free bingo at 11.28 every day. Morning that is, in the Break Time room. It’s pleasing on the eyes too so I’ll be back there at 11.28 Monday morning.
